Logistics multinational Grindrod has reported a marginal decline in terminal volumes for the first half of 2025, with figures falling to 6.7 million tonnes, down from 6.9 million tonnes during the same period last year.
The company, which operates port and logistics infrastructure across Southern Africa, made the announcement in a trading update issued on Wednesday.
It did not specify the reasons behind the drop but reaffirmed its commitment to improving throughput across its network.
Grindrod has been expanding its presence in key regional corridors and has partnered with public and private stakeholders to ease transport bottlenecks in the mining and agricultural sectors.
Despite the slight decline in volumes, the group noted that operational performance remained stable, and it continues to invest in infrastructure and technology aimed at supporting long-term growth.
A more detailed financial report is expected to be released with the company’s interim results later this year.
