In what is essentially a book transaction, parastatal Transnet has sold its remaining passenger rail and civil aviation interests to another government company. Shosholoza Meyl has been transferred to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa). “These disposals will enable Transnet to be focused solely on running the core businesses of the company as part of positioning them for growth,” says acting CEO Chris Wells.
