CUSTOMS COMMISSIONER Pravin Gordhan laughed off rumours that he was the preferred candidate for the post of Commissioner of Police when his term of office at SA Revenue Service ends in November 2009. “That’s when my contract expires and my responsibility will be to maintain the stability of the institution until then. “I will see in the new government, but thereafter political processes will have to take their course,” he said in reply to a question from the audience at a business breakfast co-hosted by Safmarine in Johannesburg last week.
