Gondrand signs up exclusive agency agreement

Swiss-based global logistics and transport company Gondrand has signed an exclusive agency agreement with local forwarders Aviocean Durban, Aviocean Cape Town and Avio Clearing and Forwarding – Johannesburg, providing customers in South Africa with the muscle of its international network. The Gondrand Group is an international forwarding and logistics provider for overland transport, sea freight, air freight and contract logistics. Over the past 140 years it has evolved from a traditional forwarding company to a global player in the field of integrated logistics. Headquartered in Basel, the Group’s international network spans the world and includes over 120 branches and 15000 plus headcount including its network of agents. “Our association with Gondrand provides customers with the benefits of their global expertise in integrated logistics,” said Desmond Sutherland of Aviocean Durban. The Johannesburg company trades as Avio Clearing and Forwarding and is in no way connected to Aviocean (Pty) Ltd, Johannesburg, Gauteng, which was recently sold to the Santova Group, he added.
