Global security standards on the way

THE TRANSPORTED Asset Protection Association has joined forces with the International Air Transport Association (Iata) to create a set of global security standards that could be ready for adoption by airlines in 2009. According to CargoNews Asia, the standards will be known as ASR (airfreight security requirements) and will fulfil two roles – protection for cargo being moved by air and compliance with aviation security requirements.
