Global aerospace accelerator Airbus BizLab has launched a new programme, dubbed the #Africa4Future challenge, targeting southern African start-ups with new and innovative ideas.
The programme aims to provide support to start-ups and transform ideas into valuable businesses more quickly.
#Africa4Future will do this by establishing a network of “Business Accelerators” which will provide start-ups with access to a number of coaches and experts in domains such as technology, finance, and marketing and communication, according to a statement released by the company.
“We are excited to finally bring this programme to southern Africa. We have been impressed by some of the innovations coming out of hubs and university research labs within the region,” said head of Airbus BizLab, Bruno Gutierres.
Applicants will be able to present their ideas and concepts at the Pitch Day in Cape Town on September 22, where a screening committee will shortlist the most promising ideas and start-ups.
The winning startup will win a fully paid 10-day trip to Europe and get the chance to meet with aerospace experts, boost their startup and see their project through to the product stage.
