Representing the first significant month-on-month (m-o-m) improvement in schedule reliability, February saw a 4.0 percentage point jump, reaching 34.4%.
This is the first significant m-o-m improvement since March 2020, according to the latest Global Liner Performance (GLP) report published by maritime consultancy Sea-Intelligence.
The February 2022 reliability score was only marginally lower year-on-year (y-o-y).
The average delay for late vessel arrivals also improved m-o-m, decreasing by -0.77 days to 7.11 days last month.
“That said, the delays have now been over seven days since August 2021, and continue to be the highest across each month when compared historically, as the delay figure for February 2022 was 0.16 days higher y-o-y,” said Sea-Intelligence CEO Alan Murphy.
Maersk was once again the most reliable in the top 14 (47.8%), followed by Hamburg Süd (42.4%).
MSC, CMA CGM and ZIM were the only ones in the 30%-40% range, while eight achieved 20%-30%.
Wan Hai was bottom of the class, achieving only 18.7%.
