Linda Els, NSRI’s Waterwise training instructor, shows Kevin Steenkamp (centre) how to do CPR while brothers Jaden and Taswell Pretorius and Natasha Bowers, Safmarine’s crewing manager (far right), look on. These youngsters were part of a group of 28 children – aged between 9 and 14 years and dependants of Safmarine’s ocean-going staff – who underwent training on how to save lives and be water-wise. Safmarine has given its support to the ‘Waterwise – Saving Lives’ initiative which aims to equip young children with easy-to-follow skills that could help them save a life.
