Kingfisher Freight has seen
significant growth in its
business into Africa and company
director Alwyn Nel is “confident
and positive” in his outlook for the
future.
While he concedes that
doing business in Africa has
its challenges – from poor
communication facilities,
language barriers and congestion
to inadequate infrastructure,
customs and fiscal controls –
he says these challenges can be
managed. “We believe the effective
management of challenges will
always give us the edge in a
competitive industry,” Nel said.
He told FTW that the expansion
of Kingfisher’s global network
through strategic partnerships
was an ongoing process and
would be a priority for 2014. “This
expanded network has given
us access to areas of operation
where we were previously limited.
Thankfully these are diminishing
as we improve our reach,” he said.
“We build up our partnerships in
areas where we believe there is an
opportunity and where we can add
value,” he added.
Nel said that the staff
complement was also growing as
the company added resources to
meet client needs.
