The upgrade and lengthening of the Walvis Bay Airport runway has already attracted larger aircraft, such as a recent Boeing 767 charter. Walvis Bay Airport Services, a subsidiary company of Manica Group, was on hand to provide ground handling services. The establishment of direct flights between Walvis Bay and Johannesburg also now paves the way for more air traffic to Walvis Bay, says group managing director Pieter Greeff. “This promises incredible growth potential for airfreight out of Walvis Bay and support services once the project is completed. Manica will also invest in providing a greater range of airfreight services to its clients,” says Greeff.
