THE US aviation industry started its slow return to normality last week when the US authorities announced that a limited number of flights would resume on a case-by-case basis. A statement by US Transportation Secretary said that the re-opening of US airspace would be conducted in a phased approach and would be subject to highly intensified security measures. Currently, cargo and mail has been temporarily banned from passenger flights.
