According to a new report released by data analysts, IHS Inc., trade between China and Africa is expected to boom in the next five years.
It also predicted that the highest growth would be on the China-East Africa trade – pointing to Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe as primary targets.
IHS estimated growth in this sector totalling 91% by 2020, all in manufactured goods.
It is also confident that, despite China’s current economic slump, trade from China and Southeast Asia to North America and Europe will also grow significantly in the next five years.
Not at the double-digit rises seen before the 2008 global economic crisis, but at an on-going growth of more than 5% per year between 2015 and 2020 – an overall five year increase of more than 30%.
