Zambia is listed along with Mauritius and Morocco as having some of the most open financial services trade regimes in the world, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Economic Development in Africa Report 2015. Trade restrictions in financial services are highest in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Egypt, according to the report. However, while the services sector contributed more than 40% to Zambian GDP from 2009–2012, it accounted for less than 20% of employment.
