Festival raises R70 000 for charity

Ed Richardson MORE THAN R70 000 was raised for local charities by last month’s fifth annual National Ports Authority (NPA) PE Port Festival. The festival forms part of NPA’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts and provides a platform for local artists, businesses and individuals to showcase their products and services. It also introduces disadvantaged communities to popular sports of powerboat racing, basketball and boxing by holding development clinics for youngsters prior to and during the festival, says the Port of Port Elizabeth’s corporate affairs manager, Lize Hayward.
