FAST INTERNATIONAL has been appointed GSA for UK-based Stabo Air on its Johannesburg - Lagos, Nigeria leg. This further boosts the company’s growing GSA division, says manager Dave Purchase.
“Our focus this year is to develop this division to enhance our charter operations where we have already gained a foothold in most African destinations,” he says.
“We market and make cargo bookings on behalf of forwarding agents with airlines that operate worldwide and especially into Africa and Europe. Our main routes into the African continent are Zambia, Uganda, DRC, Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria.”
Stabo Air operates a twice-a-week service with a Boeing 747F, which offers both upper deck and lower deck capacity and a payload of between 107-115 tons per flight. Maximum payload on each flight depends on the aircraft model that arrives from Europe on Tuesdays and Saturdays and the ground temperature at time of take-off.
Stabo Air’s current published tariff remains unchanged, says Purchase, except that the minimum freight charge is now reduced to US$30 from US$140. Plans are afoot to include Lusaka and Entebbe shortly.
