FedEx Corp on Friday announced that its FedEx Express subsidiary had acquired Supaswift businesses in South Africa and six other countries - namely Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia.
These acquisitions represent the latest step in the company’s strategy to grow its African network and service offering, a spokesman said.
Supaswift started operations in South Africa in 1990. In 2005 it merged with MyExpress which had been offering FedEx Express international services in southern Africa since 1991.
