THE DEPARTMENT of Trade and Industry has released details of its export training timetable. A series of workshops, which cover the Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) scheme, export development and marketing, logistical issues on exports and freight forwarding are held in all nine provinces. Incentives offered to exporters and rule changes to the existing scheme are among the issues covered. Companies must be established in the local market and must have been exporting for at least two years to qualify as candidates, with only one representative per company allowed. A full programme is available from the dti. The first workshop kicks off in Gauteng on May 17-18, followed by Cape Town on June 21-22 and Eastern Cape on July 19-20.
