THERE HAVE been a number of senior management changes in the European head offices of P&O and Royal Nedlloyd (50-50 partners in the P&O Nedlloyd Container Line). It’s an executive reshuffle that has been planned for some months, according to Barry New, MD of P&O Nedlloyd in SA.
Philip Green - until recently CEO of Reuters Group, and previously chief operating officer (Europe and Africa) for DHL International - has been appointed CEO of the container line.
He replaces Robert Woods - who held the title of group MD of the line - but has now been given the reins as CE of the UK partner’s holding company, the Pacific and Orient Steam Navigation Company (P&O).
Haddo Meijer, CEO of Royal Nedlloyd, has stood down as chairman of the executive committee of P&O Nedlloyd.
Both Meijer and Woods have also become non-executive directors of P&O Nedlloyd.
All these management changes were effective from January 1.
