Intraspeed negotiates preferential block space agreements ACHIEVING speed and efficiency into Africa demands specialist understanding of market conditions. “It is imperative that all pre-shipment documentation is in place prior to cargo’s actual departure,” says Intraspeed airfreight manager Natalie Kobrin. “Far too often first time African exporters dispatch their urgent shipments and are disappointed with delays at destination because pre-shipment requirements are not in place. “Being accredited with Customs on EDI paperless has added value to our service and improved lead times, with entries being processed within three hours,” she told FTW. “We also offer our clients expertise on documentation requirements at destination.” With branches in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg, Intra Speed specialises in the African continent, offering clearance and delivery to previously inaccessible destinations. “Together with our airfreight volumes and weekly consols to Nairobi, Entebbe and Dar Es Salaam, we have negotiated preferential block space agreements and airfreight rates with the carriers, which we are able to pass on to our clients,” says marketing manager Claire Hide. The company has a network of offices in Kenya, Uganda, Dar es Salaam, Rwanda and various other African states. Its service range for imports and exports includes sea and air freight, clearing, warehousing, over border transport, project management and groupage.
