Electronic booster for line entries

A WELCOME new electronic booster for the automotive industry is in the pipeline from Compu Clearing. According to chairman, Arnold Garber, every single car import has to have its own individual line entry on the bill of entry. “You can’t just say you’ve imported a total of 2 000 cars,” he told FTW, “because each one has its own chassis and engine numbers, and needs a line entry for each unit.” This is a tremendous burden on the people preparing all the documentation. “But because the invoice from the supplier has all this information on it, and it is electronically generated and transmitted, we can feed this into our system with each full line entry prepared. “It’s a matter of using electronic technology to assist in the import of cars.”
