Eagle and Crossroads join forces to provide one-stop package

TRANSPORT GROUP Crossroads Distribution and forwarding company Eagle Freight have concluded a strategic alliance to provide an all-inclusive logistics package to their southern African clients.
The service will offer a door-to-door international logistics service from import through to freight forwarding, clearing, warehousing and distribution of freight nationally.
The one-stop service streamlines a complex logistics and transport operations and enables clients to outsource capital-intensive warehousing and delivery operations, says Eagle Freight m.d. Bobby Pearson.
In so doing they will be able to focus on their core business.
Eagle Freight cannot provide such a comprehensive service on its own, and neither can Crossroads Distribution. But as a combined service provider, our two companies offer valuable expertise and experience, he said.
Crossroads Distribution c.e.o. Deon Blignaut, who sees many synergies in the two operations, points out that many of Eagle's clients are also Crossroads clients.
Whereas previously a client with complex freight requirements would have to deal with at least two companies separately, we now offer a total service.
Crossroads Distribution was formed recently in a Trencor Transport manangement buy-out in partnership with Malesela Holdings and First Corp Capital Investors while Eagle Freight had a management buy-out two years ago.
Crossroads is involved in the road freight express market through CrosscapeExpress and Skynet Worldwide Express' national and international courier services, as well as heavy haulage full truckload and part truckloads transported throughout southern Africa by Jowells Transport and Stuarts Transport.
SABS accredited freight forwarder Eagle Freight has been in existence for more than 35 years.
