Tariff Amendments – 07 September 2007 The General rate of customs duty (duty), the European Union and Southern African Development Community rates of duty on sugar have increased. The description of tariff subheading 3808.50.03 has been changed to read: “fungicides suitable for the treatment of wood, plants, trees or seeds (excluding those containing compounds of copper, chromium and arsenic or metallic compounds of dithiocarbamates or bisdithiocarbamates as active ingredient but not excluding those fungicides containing manganese ethylenebis (dithiocarbamate) (polymeric) complex with zinc salts as active ingredient”. The description of tariff subheading 3808.92.20 has been changed to read: “suitable for the treatment of wood, plants, trees or seed (excluding those containing compounds of copper, chromium and arsenic or metallic compounds of dithiocarbamates or bis-dithiocarbamates as active ingredient but not excluding those containing manganese ethylenebis (dithiocarbamate) (polymeric) complex with zinc salts as active ingredient)”. A new Schedule No.3 manufacturing rebate provision has been created, 311.10/5404.12/01.06 for a rebate of the full duty on monofilament, of polypropylene, for the manufacture of carpet backing material, consisting of woven fabrics containing 85 per cent or more by mass of synthetic filaments, classifiable under tariff heading 54.07.
