Artificial Turf Tariff Application An invitation has been extended to all interested parties to comment on the proposed increase in the rate of customs duty on artificial turf, classifiable under tariff subheading 9506.99.90. The intention is for the creation of an additional 8-digit tariff subheading for “Artificial Turf” at a “General” rate of customs duty of 10% ad valorem. The prevailing “General” rate of customs duty is free (0%). Comment is due by 03 June 2011. Polymer Anti-Dumping Duty Deleted On 06 May Sars announced the deletion of the anti-dumping duties on plates, sheets, film, foil and strip of biaxially oriented polymers of propylene, non-cellular and not reinforced, laminated, supported or similarly combined with other materials of a thickness exceeding 0.012 mm but not exceeding 0.06 mm, not heat shrinkable, originating or imported from Brazil. Anti-Dumping Duties on Bolts Increased On 06 May Sars announced an increase in the antidumping duties on bolts, of iron or steel, with hexagon heads (excluding bolts of stainless steel, bolts fitted with base metal expansion sleeves and bolts identifiable for use solely or principally on aircraft), of a width of 6 mm or more but not exceeding 36 mm and a length of 10 mm or more but not exceeding 400 mm, whether or not with their nuts and washers originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China (China). Export Control of Citrus Fruits On 29 April a notice appeared from the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries with respect to the Standards and Requirements regarding Control of the Export of Citrus Fruits. The standard and requirements will come into operation on 06 May 2011. Import Control of Fertilisers On 29 April 2011 a notice appeared from the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries regarding Regulations relating to the Registration of Fertilisers, Farm Feed, Agricultural Remedies, Stock Remedies, Sterilising Plants and Pest Control Operators, Appeals and Imports: Amendment. Prohibition of Certain Farm Feeds On 29 April a notice appeared from the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries regarding the Fertilisers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, announcing the Prohibition of the Acquisition, Disposal or use of Certain Farm Feeds: Amendment. Prohibition of Retail of Certain Farm Feeds On 29 April a notice appeared from the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries with regard to the Fertilisers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, announcing the Prohibition on Retail of Products Containing Hyaluronic Acid and its Salts as Farm Feed.
