DSV invests in projects division

Logistics major DSV has invested heavily in its projects division – both locally and globally – against a background of growing opportunities, particularly in Africa. According to CEO Warren Erfmann, DSV has a dedicated staff of more than 1000 people worldwide servicing the projects sector alone. “We are in the fortunate position that we have many existing projects on the go for the rest of 2013 and some that have already been awarded for 2014, so the next couple of years are looking great.” DSV, the world’s 6th largest freight company, sees Africa as a key growth point for its project sector. In this regard the company is in the process of finalising an agreement that will allow it to offer clients BBBEE level 1 (BWO) certification in its projects department – a key requirement for work in South Africa. “Of course infrastructure remains a challenge in much of Africa, but finding ways of overcoming these challenges is part and parcel of doing project work on the continent,” said Erfmann.
