DPE affirms policy on international port concessioning bidders

THE DEPARTMENT of Public Enterprises last week confirmed that port concessioning would be open to competitive international bidding.
“Crucial decisions on port restructuring have as yet to be taken, but the key guiding principles are clear,” DPE director general DR Eugene Mokeyane told stakeholders in Durban last week.
He said the bidding process would first consider and evaluate the technical content of proposals and only subsequently the financial proposal.
