Investment in Walvis Bay’s first
warehouse with dock levellers
is paying off for Interlogix and
its Namibian clients, says Jason
Fourie, director of Interlogix
Namibia.
He says the
facility is able to
destuff or load a
container with
crated cargo in
15 minutes or
less.
“By the time
the driver has
filled in the
paperwork and
had a drink of
water we are
finished and can
release the container.
“This saves both the trucking
company and the client money
as the vehicle does not have to
offload a container on the ground
for handling,” he says.
Interlogix provides warehousing
services to smaller freight
forwarders in addition to the
group’s own clients.
“The companies we work with
know that we are totally ethical
and will not approach their
clients,” he says.
Services
include the
stuffing and
destuffing of
containers,
consolidation and
warehousing.
Interlogix
also has a large
customs road
bond covering
South Africa
and Namibia.
The Namibian operation is part
of the Interlogix group, which
has its headquarters in Durban.
It has been providing project
management and logistics
services for the oil and gas,
petrochemical and mining metals
and heavy lift sectors for more
than 30 years.
Logistics services include
customs clearing, project
management
and freight
forwarding
throughout
southern
Africa.
