Direct groupage service to Kinshasa launched

JOY ORLEK THIS MONTH sees the launch of a direct groupage service from South Africa to Kinshasa by logistics major SDV Transami. It’s the first direct option on the route, according to sales and marketing manager Isabelle Creamer, offering a transit time of 28 days. Initially the service will run monthly, but additional frequencies will be introduced based on demand. “If our recently introduced Belgium – DRC groupage service is any indication, the prospects are good. It started off monthly and after just two months it warranted a fortnightly service.” There’s been lots of positive response to the SA service which is also well placed in terms of rates, said Creamer.
