Dachser has announced the acquisition of Brummer Logistik GmbH in Germany and Brummer Logistic Solutions GmbH & Co KG in Austria, the logistics services provider has said in a company statement.

The acquisition of Brummer Logistik, a family-operated business specialising in temperature-controlled food logistics across Germany and Austria, will further strengthen Dachser's position in the food logistics sector, European Food Network (EFN) reports.

Brummer Logistik, founded in 1977, operates daily on behalf of renowned food manufacturers and chain stores in Germany and Austria, and is a member of the EFN since June 2013.

The company has a total revenue of €100 million and a total storage area of 40 000 square metres, making it a significant player in the food logistics industry.

The acquisition is yet to be approved by both the German and Austrian authorities, Dachser has said.

The deal will enable the multinational logistics company, founded in 1930 by Thomas Dachser, to enhance its collective market position for bidirectional transport between Germany and Austria, and to make the most of bundling synergies with Brummer Logistik.

The acquisition of Brummer Logistic Solutions in Austria will further expand Dachser's presence in the Central European food logistics market, allowing the company to provide efficient and quick logistics services for customers in Austria.

Dachser's acquisition of Brummer Logistik and Brummer Logistic Solutions is a strategic move that will strengthen the company's position in the food logistics sector, and enable it to provide more efficient and high-quality logistics services for customers spread out over a wide area, especially Germany and Austria.
