The growing oil and gas
industry in southern Africa is
expected to provide significant
opportunities for airfreight,
according to Andy King, group
sales director for ANA Airline
Management, a Network Aviation
group company.
“A reliable and efficient
airfreight industry is a central
requirement for the oil and gas
industry where the downtime of
rigs and other equipment is kept
to the minimum,” he said.
Through its South African
subsidiary, Network Airline
Services (NAS) recently opened
an office in Cape Town.
“We are very excited to extend
our business into Cape Town as
we believe there are some great
opportunities in terms of the
growing oil and gas industry,”
he said.
Having been established in
both Kenya and Nigeria for the
past 25 years, King said the
company had built up valuable
experience in servicing the
African oil and gas market.
The company also has offices in
Uganda and Tanzania.
“At the same time the inter
Africa air cargo business is
growing and we see South
Africa as a major market for our
services into North East Africa”,
he said. “South Africa, with
Johannesburg in particular, is
an ideal location to serve the
region and transfer cargo to
countries such as Angola and
Mozambique.”
