ED RICHARDSON CSX WORLD Terminals LLC has purchased an additional 39.1% stake in Asia Container Terminals (“ACT”), giving it a total ownership position of 68.6%. The stake was acquired from Jenwick Investments Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties. ACT is the operator of CT8 (West), one of Hong Kong’s premier container terminals. CSX WT, through another affiliate, manages the ACT terminal under a long-term management agreement. Dubai Ports International (“DPI”) recently signed a definitive agreement to acquire the international terminal business operated by CSX WT and other related interests for a cash sum of US$1.15 billion. CSX WT has port management operations in Europe, Australia, Latin America and Asia, including CT3 and CT8 in Hong Kong.
