Countrywide conferences keep Compu-Clearing customers in the know

A recent round-the-country series of conferences organised by freight systems specialists, Compu-Clearing, was designed to brief members of the freight industry on the recent changes in legislation, technology and the business of customs clearing and supply chain execution, according to MD, Mario Acosta- Alarcon. “Added to that,” he told FTW, “we also indicated what was needed technologically to implement these changes. “It was also designed to showcase our CargoWise ediEnterprise system, which provides a single platform supply chain logistics management system, with enhanced SA customs integration as well as other SA-specific functionality, such as Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA).” A special panel was assembled at each of the conferences to solve problems on technical issues raised by various members of the audience, according to Acosta- Alarcon. “We also provided a service to the industry by highlighting information that would normally require an in-depth search of Internet websites to find.” The conference was titled: From customs clearing to supply chain execution – from technological solutions to business enablement. Compu-Clearing chairman, Arnold Garber, was among the speaker line-up, providing a summary of changes in customs legislation and the latest industry trends.
