Tsogo Sun is seeing returns from its hotel investments in Mozambique, with SA corporates often preferring to stay at a recognisable brand when visiting the country.

That’s according to Bruce Chapman, GM of the Southern Sun and StayEasy Maputo who told FTW the Southern Sun had recently increased its capacity to 269 rooms. Earlier this year, the brand opened the StayEasy Maputo atop the new Baía Mall overlooking the Maputo Bay on the Avenida Marginal.

“This has been designed for more independent travellers who prefer to experience the city independently, without the executive comforts of the Southern Sun, but at a fraction of the price.” Rates at the StayEasy Maputo include high-speed WiFi and breakfast. Further north, Tsogo manages the Tete Ferry Sun in the mining and logistics hub of Tete.

This comprises 100 chalets situated on the banks of the Zambezi River.
