Unidel Carriers owner, Rick de Smidt, reports that his company made contingency plans for fuel in both Zimbabwe and Zambia to complete delivery of the heaviest ever abnormal load to move via Zimbabwe for delivery to the Copperbelt in Zambia.
The 263 ton load of an auto clave copper processor from Utah America is being transported from Richards Bay to the Kansanshi Mine. The move will take a month and the load is due at its destination in about
10 days’ time.
“We made arrangements and it will make it to the delivery site on time,” he told FTW just after they had crossed the Zimbabwean border.
