Consortium plans Mombasa free port

CLIVE EMDON PLANS TO develop a free port at three sites in Mombasa – at a cost of US$ 2.8 billion (R19b) - aims to create more than 1.3 million direct jobs, according to the East African Standard. Tal Group, which comprises 15 companies, is seeking public and government support to implement its free port plan. The venture is intended to attract foreign capital into the free port zones.
