A NEW high-power track-and-trace system for the airfreight industry has just been launched by the Johannesburg-based software and services organisation, Compu-Clearing. This, according to m.d. Arnold Garber, is a free system for the freight industry although a registration fee might be added at a later date. "It is undoubtedly the most powerful track-and-trace system for the airfreight industry available on the Internet to date," he told FTW. "By simply going to www.compu-clearing.co.za you will get two input fields on the screen - one for the \airline prefix, then the eight digits of the air waybill number." All the airlines that have Internet-based track-and-trace Ð and that's all the majors - are available, Garber added. It is also amazingly fast, according to Garber. "By keying in the 11 digit air waybill number of any airline, an answer is found within seconds," he said.
