WHEN IT comes to providing the full range of services under one roof, independent LCL warehouse and empty container park CMC has translated the concept into reality.
Repairs, washbays, reefer cargo and even groupage are part and parcel of the service range at its facilities in Durban Johannesburg and Eastcon
Washbays at all three facilities ensure cleanliness of containers enabling them to receive export cargo, says CMC's Lesley Quick.
We have a container repairs division in both Durban and Johannesburg, with Eastcon repairs being carried out by the Johannesburg depot. Our inspectors are IICL qualified and all repairs are carried out to IICL 4 / IICL 5 standards.
In Durban and Johannesburg mobile repair teams are available for on-site repairs.
Reefer cargo features strongly in the company's portfolio. In Durban we have a refrigerated container division as well as a cold storage facility, says Quick.
Our reefer division caters for up to 1000 units and has 120 plug points, with more currently being installed.
Its services range from full P.T.I. facilities and repairs to 24-hour terminal repairs and 24-hour on-vessel repairs for malfunctioning units.
The cold storage facility is PPECB approved, and its eight loading bays accommodate both 6m and 12m containers..
It offers storage capacity for 3000 pallets, temperature ranges from +15 degrees to -0.5 degrees
celsius and on site PPECB and State Vet inspections.
The Durban facility boasts a full container division as well as a warehouse.
CMC has also diversified into the groupage market and regular services are offered nationally as well as overborder to Harare, Bulawayo, Gaborone and Swaziland.
