Clover Cargo tailors service to meet logistics needs

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is changing the face of the freight forwarding industry worldwide, with traditional operators repackaging themselves as logistics and supply chain management solution providers.
Clover Cargo is paying a lot more than lip service to the concept with the recent launch of a new logistics centre in Isando designed for speedy and secure handling, consolidation and distribution of goods.
Group managing director Vincent Magnus believes that customised solutions are what the industry demands. Every shipper's needs are different. With our new dedicated warehouse facility in place we are now devising software packages customised for the individual needs of our clients.
The logistics centre not only meets Clover Cargo's expanding warehousing requirements for imports, exports, transit cargo and off-airport degrouping, but takes the company into a new realm, says Magnus.
It's a means of , providing the full spectrum of staging, order-picking and distribution services. We're already offering a supply chain management service to some of our clients who realise the benefit of sticking to their core business and leaving the rest to us.
Security has been a major concern and round-the-clock surveillance, state-of-the-art closed circuit monitoring, a high security cage for vulnerable items, and an on-site operations office are some of the mechanisms in place.
Clover Cargo has purchased land adjacent to the warehouse allowing for expansion of the centre as the customer base grows.
