From next week, China Airlines will make its air cargo capacity and rates available to thousands of freight forwarders through leading digital booking platforms WebCargo by Freightos and 7LFreight.

The new integration is widely regarded as a significant development for airfreight agents and will enable forwarders to seamlessly search, quote, and book shipments with China Airlines in real time.

The platform is also linked to 7LFreight’s rate management system, allowing users to access dynamic pricing and make instant bookings.

Moreover, freight forwarders whose transport management systems (TMS) are integrated with WebCargo can make bookings directly from their internal platforms, streamlining the process even further.

The initial phase of the roll-out will include key airfreight hubs in the United States, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Japan.

It will also cover 14 destinations across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia – including Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Future stages of the integration will see the introduction of WebCargo Pay, allowing for instant digital payments and enabling freight forwarders to manage both bookings and financial transactions in a single workflow.

The partnership will support a wide range of services, including general cargo, express shipments, unit load device bookings and contracted rates.

China Airlines said the initiative marked a key milestone in the airline’s ongoing digitalisation strategy. By offering forwarders real-time access to space availability and pricing, the carrier aims to simplify operational procedures and enhance the overall customer experience in an increasingly digital logistics landscape.

The collaboration is said to be in keeping with broader industry trends pushing for greater transparency, automation and agility in air cargo management, signalling China Airlines’ commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in freight services.
