Safcor Panalpina has announced several changes to its board of directors with Anthonie Verploegh moving into the new role of supply chain director. Responsible for supply chain, contract logistics, procurement and projects, he has been with the Rennies/ Bidvest group for 17 years, six of these at Safcor Panalpina. Muzi Nkosi joined recently as the new marketing and sales director. His brief is to ensure that the company's growth targets are sustainable through a better understanding of clients' needs. Fergus Woodthorpe Brown takes on the role of IT director, heading up the IT department's two sections – infrastructure and applications. This includes the national data centre and LAN/WAN environment and overseeing all policies including security. He will also manage key software packages – clearing and forwarding, logistics, financials and CRM. Charles Speed-Andrews, previously operations director, has been appointed finance director.
