In Africa there is no denying that trade and investment has been dominated by the Europeans and the Chinese, but the United States is fast catching up on the back of several initiatives and projects. With seven of the fastest growing economies in the world in Africa, the opportunities presented on the continent are well documented. According to Donald Nay, regional senior commercial officer, Sub-Saharan Africa, for the US Commercial Service the populations and economies of Africa are growing much more rapidly than those of other regions. “This represents untold business opportunities in many commercial sectors from energy and power to infrastructure, transportation, health, franchising, consumer goods and training.”
