CFM museum opens

Mozambique’s ports and
railway heritage is being
preserved in a newly opened
CFM museum in the historic
Maputo Central Railway
Station.
Originally officially opened
in 1895 by Paul Kruger (he of
the Transvaal Boer Republic),
the station makes the perfect
setting for the museum.
It includes a collection of
tracks, loco tractors, carriages,
rail trolleys and other
memorabilia covering the more
than 100-year history of rail in
Mozambique.
It is worth a visit, but be
warned that parking is a
challenge.
