Centennial Bridge to live up to its name

The Centennial Bridge over the Incomati River in Mozambique’s Maputo province is approximately 75% complete and is expected to be finished by December.

It is part of the Maputo ring road project being undertaken by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CBRC), and will replace the current barge ferry service.

Built on 10 support pillars, the bridge 310 metres long and 11m wide.

The concrete design of the bridge is strong enough to withstand more than a 100 years in operation. Truly a centennial bridge.
