ON SEPTEMBER 11 Cargolux will increase capacity on the SA - Luxembourg route with the addition of a third flight. The new Tuesday flight will be routed via Abidjan, returning via Nairobi on Wednesdays. This complements the existing service which flies on Thursdays via Accra, returning via Nairobi on Friday, and on Sundays via Abidjan with return via Nairobi on Monday. Northbound flights from Nairobi stop in Maastricht before continuing to Luxembourg, an important consideration for flower growers. The launch of the additional flight, using temperature controlled B747-400F equipment, coincides with the height of the perishable season in South Africa. The airlineÕs southbound traffic consists primarily of high-tech equipment while northbound freight includes car parts, textiles and chemicals, and during the season, a variety of perishable exports.
