As part of an ongoing strategy to grow its footprint not only in KwaZulu Natal but also in southern Africa, logistics company Cargocare’s Durban branch has embarked on a growth and expansion trail. According to managing director Roland Raath, the first big change on the cards for Durban is the move of offices from Congella to Mt Edgecombe. “The decision is part of our strategy to grow our business as the new location places the company in a better position to grow both our air and ocean freight clients,” said Raath. “With the change of office we are now able to offer these clients a guaranteed same-day-as-flight arrival delivery.” He said the new offices would be equipped with the latest IT and communication equipment while at the same time allowing the company to offer another value-add service – storage. “It will be short-term storage and is not very big, but it does allow us to increase our service offering to the client to include repacks, distribution and storage.” The company has also recently appointed Nadine Saunders as its new Durban sales executive in Durban. “While she has been tasked to pursue international freight, she has an excellent track record in local domestic freight, which is why we are extremely confident that she will be able to fulfil our long-term goal of integrating local logistics into the international freight chain by offering our clients competitive and efficient services, at the same time growing our local Durban client base,” said Raath.
