THE SEAFREIGHT computer system, African Port Network, has just launched 'The Cargo Engine' - a daily e-mail service providing maritime information and e-commerce facilities.
This, according to director Wayne Sandeman, adds more value to the service already on-stream.
'We are already able to offer direct links to 33 ocean carriers,' he told FTW, 'ships in port (daily); arrested vessels; interactive sailing schedules for 126 trade routes; and vessel tracking.'
To that can be added on-line insurance for cargo, port announcements, and access to information on over 6 000 SA exporting companies.
