NEW THICK paper core legs have added durability to the corrugated cardboard pallets available from CX Pallets, says MD Jan Vreken. “The new 10mm-thick core leg can take a beating from forklifts and trucking, and provides a more robust base to the pallet,” says Vreken. The pallet can be lifted with a forklift from any direction and the new paper-core leg can withstand damage from forklift tines (forks). The cores do not absorb moisture and the pallets do not need to be fumigated. “The pallets are now rackable and can be suspended on racks without a base support, while in the past there was fear of a cave-in on racks without beam strength.” Corrugated cardboard pallets offer many benefits, says Vreken. They are light in weight compared to their wooden counterparts and disposable after use. They are used extensively for manufactured goods, automotive components, pharmaceuticals and dry foodstuffs. Their use eliminates the risk of contamination while wooden crates and pallets have to be fumigated.
