THE TRANSNET board
is due to meet today
(October 5) to consider
the so-called ‘Plan B’
reconfiguration of the Cape
Town terminal.
This follows last week’s
news that Environmental
Affairs and Tourism Minister
Marthinus van Schalkwyk
had given the terminal
extension the “green” light.
Cape Town container
terminal business manager
Oscar Borchards is a “very
happy man”, following
the environmental
department’s approval
of the much-needed
extensions.
“We have worked very
hard for this and now it’s
all systems go,” an elated
Borchards told FTW.
Things are likely to
move into top gear
after the Transnet board
meeting.
