Brics trade flourishes

Partnerships fostered by South Africa, Brazil, China, India and Russia will significantly boost the growth of trade and industrialisation in the African continent, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies, said at the Brics Business Forum in Durban last week. “From the South African perspective, we have seen significant growth in trade and economic relations with Brics countries. We currently have 31 projects by 25 companies located in Brics countries totalling R12.6 billion.” “The African continent is recognised as the second-fastest growing continent after Asia,” he said. “This is driven in part by the boom in mineral products and infrastructure development.”
