Brazil’s new ambassador in Angola, Norton Rapesta, has called for the establishment of a maritime link between Brazil and Angola to enhance bilateral trade, according to news reports.
Angola’s news agency, Angop, cited Rapesta as saying that if this became a reality then Angola could become a springboard for exporting Brazilian products to other African countries.
“We are not concerned about the trade balance because there are other more important matters to deal with such as logistics which includes direct maritime transport links between Angola and Brazil,” he reportedly told the news agency when outlining his plans as the new ambassador.
