FOUR CHINESE airlines signed purchasing contracts for 42 Boeing 787 aircraft on August 8, worth US$5.04 billion, according to a Xinhua report. The agency said that Air China and China Eastern would buy 15 planes each while Shanghai Airlines would buy nine planes, and Xiamen Airlines three aircraft. In the next few years, China will introduce more aircraft.
